Courage and forgiveness can coexist
Courage and forgiveness can coexist! Over the last month, I finished two projects for which I am super grateful. I've been leaning into Courage and how the Lord often commanded us, in love, to live courageously in Him, trusting that He always has our back.
So many wonderful things transpired last month: Zooms with the Fenty Beauty team, Bible App updates, YouTube Creator Hall, and, most importantly, the confidence in trusting that less is more. In a world that pushes the hustle, God has given me the best opportunities while I rest and write.
AND THEN THIS…
One day, I prayed about something, and it was as if the Lord spoke to my heart and said, “You keep looking back.” I didn’t understand it at first, but now I see. Looking back isn't just what we do with our eyes; it’s rehearsing the past in conversation and being consumed by what was.
You see, courage isn’t just the choices we make when we know we will get pushback. But it should be a part of who you are, what you accept, and how you navigate life. Courage is a grace that empowers you even when you want to give up. Courage isn't stagnant. It doesn't remain complacent. It moves forward, even when something ends or is irreversible.
“Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point, which means, at the point of highest reality.”
When Moses died, God told Joshua, 'Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 'Joshua 1:2
My summary of Joshua 1 is this. "Moses is gone—now you go and live courageously, I am with you." 🙂
Something may have come to an end in your life. Instead of living, maybe you are simply existing, hoping to experience joy again. But true joy can't be contingent on what is happening around you. It has to be a well from which you draw strength. This well is found in scripture and through prayer.
God has a plan, but you must lean into the courage of letting go, forgiving, and skipping on to what’s next—one step at a time.
Be encouraged,
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:9 KJV
